Minnesota "Homeschool" Deluxe Online Driver Ed Course
This 30 -hour online course has been specifically designed for parents and their Homeschoolers who want to take the safest, most-effective driver training available on the market today.
The five-star Homeschool online and boxed editions are for full time homeschool parents/students
that are registered in the state of Minnesota as a registered full time student ONLY.
If you are a student who studies at home and virtually uses the State or private school curriculum, this is
NOT the course for you. You will want to go to the in school online driver ed course, found by going to:
https://courses.drivesaferidesafe.com/courses/minnesota-in-school-deluxe-online-driver-ed-course
For the registered full time students, you are in the right place. At the end of either of these courses, students will get an affidavit with a custom ID# that they need to use when filling out the affidavit.
Once the student has completed the course, parents will need to send the affidavit to the DMV. Homeschool parents need to do this because you have signed up your students with the state as full time homeschool /students and the DMV needs to verify that you have used an accredited parent taught program.
When homeschool students finish the driver ed course, be it online or boxed, the parents fill out the affidavit form and mail it into the DMV (address on the document). This process can take 7-10 days to receive the letter of completion from the DMV so keep that in mind when scheduling your student’s permit test.
Many parents ask us what is the difference between the Boxed and Online Courses, so we wanted to eliminate any confusion.
In essence, the content between the two courses is almost identical, it is really how the student is given the material to study.
In the online version of the course, the videos are dispersed in smaller doses through each chapter, and the program will correct all the quizzes and exams for the student.
In the book version, all the videos for each chapter are at the top of the lesson. All videos for both courses are accessible online and the parent will guide the student through the course and correct all of the workbook assignments, quizzes and exams using the parent guidebook.
BOTH courses are programmed for a three-month access, however we know that some students need more time or due to unforeseen circumstances the student will need more time, so we allow up to 1 year access for both the online and boxed videos.
You will receive a 10-day email notice that informs your student that the course will expire, in 10 day. If your student needs more time, just email us, and we are happy to extend the access up to one year in total.
In the online version, the student does the quizzes online and the platform will correct the quizzes (the student can't move forward unless they get 85% on their quiz). The student gets PDF's for their enrichment activities that NEED to be done with a parent in order to pass the course. We also mail students a study guide to use throughout the course and for taking notes or highlighting important information.
We also allow the parent access to the online class to help with questions the teen may have, or if they want to watch the program with the student to understand what they are learning.
In the boxed version, the parent is the teacher and guides the student through the course using the parent guidebook. The parent will grade the student’s quizzes and correct the workbook lessons and also the practice final exams.
You will receive a student workbook, parent guidebook, and a Minnesota Manual the student needs to read. In the boxed edition you get most of the same videos as the online course, but they are accessed online in bundles for each of the ten chapters.
The online course is easier on the parents as Mike can lead the student through the course and the mechanics of the platform guide the student through each of the lessons. However, the Boxed edition is more hands on with the parent’s involvement. Some students/parents enjoy books and workbooks more than online programs. As a homeschool parent you will know best as far as which program would work best for your student.
