Are you interested in taking control of how well your teen prepares for driving on today's chaotic roads?

Our course allows for flexible study hours and teaching methods.

Our program offers your teen the opportunity to review or retake any of the lessons in the course until they master the material.

We provide extra practice quizzes and exams to ensure your teen passes the permit test on the first try.

Our videos capture Real World Situations that will stimulate meaningful discussions on driver safety.

Our critical thinking questions and enrichment activities build your teen’s confidence and defensive driving abilities.

Our compelling storytelling throughout the course will resonate with teens and influence them into taking driving seriously.

The Homeschool online and boxed editions are for full time homeschool parents/students only. At the end of either of these courses, students will get an affidavit with a custom ID# that they need to use when filling out the affidavit.

Once the student has completed the course, parents will need to send the affidavit to the DMV. Homeschool parents need to do this because you have signed up your students with the state as full time homeschool /students and the DMV needs to verify that you have used an accredited parent taught program.

When homeschool students finish the driver ed course, be it online or boxed, the parents fill out the affidavit form and mail it into the DMV (address on the document). This process can take 7-10 days to receive the letter of completion from the DMV so keep that in mind when scheduling your student’s permit test.

Many parents ask us what is the difference between the Boxed and Online Courses, so we wanted to eliminate any confusion.

In essence, the content between the two courses is almost identical, it is really how the student is given the material to study.

In the online version of the course, the videos are dispersed in smaller doses through each chapter, and the program will correct all the quizzes and exams for the student.

In the book version, all the videos for each chapter are at the top of the lesson. All videos for both courses are accessible online and the parent will guide the student through the course and correct all of the workbook assignments, quizzes and exams using the parent guidebook.

BOTH courses are programmed for a three-month access, however we know that some students need more time or due to unforeseen circumstances the student will need more time, so we allow up to 1 year access for both the online and boxed videos.

You will receive a 10-day email notice that informs your student that the course will expire, in 10 day. If your student needs more time, just email us, and we are happy to extend the access up to one year in total.

In the online version, the student does the quizzes online and the platform will correct the quizzes (the student can't move forward unless they get 85% on their quiz). The student gets PDF's for their enrichment activities that NEED to be done with a parent in order to pass the course. We also mail students a study guide to use throughout the course and for taking notes or highlighting important information.

We also allow the parent access to the online class to help with questions the teen may have, or if they want to watch the program with the student to understand what they are learning.

In the boxed version, the parent is the teacher and guides the student through the course using the parent guidebook. The parent will grade the student’s quizzes and correct the workbook lessons and also the practice final exams.

You will receive
a student workbook, parent guidebook, and a Minnesota Manual the student needs to read. In the boxed edition you get most of the same videos as the online course, but they are accessed online in bundles for each of the ten chapters.

The online course is easier on the parents as Mike can lead the student through the course and the mechanics of the platform guide the student through each of the lessons. However, the Boxed edition is more hands on with the parent’s involvement. Some students/parents enjoy books and workbooks more than online programs. As a homeschool parent you will know best as far as which program would work best for your student.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

Our son worked hard and enjoyed “learning from Mike”.

Jean H. – Homeschool Parent- St. Paul, MN.

Our son is homeschooled because he has a hard time with traditional learning. We were worried about him passing his driver test, but then we found Mike Pehl’s DriveSafeRideSafe Course. Our son worked hard and enjoyed “learning from Mike”. He passed his test the first time with 100%. We were so proud and so thankful to have this curriculum. Thanks to the DriveSafeRideSafe folks!

Easy to understand and very practical.

Vicki D (Driver Ed Instructor)

I like how the steps and ideas to help parents and students are easy to understand and very practical. Doing these steps and practices will make teen drivers and experienced drivers even more Roadworthy.

The car cam emails that we receive are really awesome!

Angie T - Homeschool Parent, Milaca, MN

These images are imprinted on my sons brain, and he has re-enacted them with Hotwheels to tell family and friends about the video.  I believe one of the best ways to really understand something to the point that it becomes a part of you is to teach it.  His Hotwheel demonstrations bring the level of understanding up for sure.  I know that these short video segments will have a lasting impression on his driving attitude and skills.  Thank-you for sharing these videos as well!! A sincerely, very satisfied and thankful customer! Blessings on your endeavors!!

I've told many a parent you don't invest 16 years into your child to have it wiped out by a wrong decision

Mary Madden (Range Driver Training)

The 3 DVD's are so hand-in-hand for putting safer teen drivers on the road. I am really pleased to add them to our curriculum and offer them to parents. They also are great for developing a parent-instructor-student working relationship. We've always tried to stress how important it is that we all work together to put the safest teen driver possible on the road.  I've told many a parent you don't invest 16 years into your child to have it wiped out by a wrong decision - 1 second decision your teen made BTW.  You need to work with them before,  during and after the licensing process.  Mike reinforces that message and validates what I've been saying for 37 years.

Was very helpful!

Rosa – San Diego, CA

I needed help with my driver test and the book helped me learn what I needed about the roads and signs and laws and then the DVD gave me step by step instructions on how to start in a parking lot and work my way up to driving on the freeways safely.

It was not boring!

Colleen - Homeschool Parent, Duluth, MN

I purchased and returned two Driver Ed courses before finding DriveSafeRideSafe’s curriculum. This course makes it easy for a parent to teach and keeps the teen interested. Mike’s stories and insights are practical and compelling. My son even liked the course and the enrichment activities because “it was not boring”. As parents we liked that we were teaching him how to become a safe driver.

An EXCELLENT Course!

Diana J (Tulsa, Ok.)

An EXCELLENT Course! I especially approve of the common sense, step-by-step instructions presented in such a calm manner!! I highly recommend for parents who are planning to teach their teens to drive.

Knowing how to drive is not enough when it comes to teaching someone else!Julie S (Mother of 3 accident free teens)

Julie S (Mother of 3 accident free teens)

Very valuable information!  This video gave me a real sense of security and plan of action when getting in the car with my new driver.  I learned several things about driving for myself,  as well.  Knowing how to drive is not enough when it comes to teaching someone else!
